Description
SIG SAUER P226-X LEGION SAO 9mm with SIG-LOC Optic
The SIG SAUER P226-X LEGION SAO combines the proven all-metal P226 platform with competition-influenced ergonomics, an adjustable single-action trigger, and a factory-installed SIG-LOC reflex optic. This full-size 9mm configuration uses a 4.4-inch match-grade bull barrel, LEGION Gray Cerakote finish, manual thumb safety, and 18-round steel magazines. It is built for shooters who want a refined range, training, competition, or defensive pistol with an integrated optical sighting system.
Single-Action AX1 Trigger System
This model uses SIG SAUER’s AX1 single-action-only trigger. The flat-faced trigger is adjustable for overtravel, allowing the shooter to refine the stopping point after the sear releases. Because the pistol operates in single-action mode, the hammer is cocked before the trigger is pressed. An ambidextrous manual safety provides positive control of the firing system and supports right- or left-handed operation.
The straight trigger profile and consistent single-action press are intended to support deliberate shot placement and fast follow-up work. As with any adjustable firearm control, the trigger and safety should be checked for proper function after adjustment and before live fire. Owners should follow the factory manual rather than altering engagement surfaces or internal safety components.
Match-Grade Bull Barrel and Full-Size Slide
A 4.4-inch carbon-steel match-grade bull barrel anchors the full-size configuration. SIG SAUER uses a 35-degree target crown designed to protect the muzzle and support consistent bullet release. The added barrel mass and full-size slide help provide a stable shooting platform, while the 8.0-inch overall length remains familiar to shooters accustomed to service-size P226 pistols.
The stainless-steel slide is finished in LEGION Gray Cerakote and includes front and rear serrations for handling. The pistol is optic equipped and uses the SIG-LOC PRO interface, which creates a low, reinforced connection between a compatible optic and the slide. XRAY3 day/night sights remain available as durable secondary sights and provide visible reference points across changing light conditions.
LEGION Frame and Ergonomics
The alloy frame is also finished in LEGION Gray and incorporates an extended beavertail, undercut trigger guard, and textured gripping surfaces intended to promote a high, secure firing grip. LEGION G-10 grip panels provide a firm interface without adding the bulk of an oversized competition grip. A flared magazine well assists reloads, while the extended controls are positioned for efficient manipulation.
An M1913 accessory rail allows compatible weapon lights or other appropriately sized accessories to be mounted beneath the dust cover. The P226-X LEGION is designed to accept selected P226-XFIVE-series components, giving owners a platform that can be configured within SIG SAUER’s compatibility guidance.
Capacity and Factory Configuration
This exact RXSL model ships with three flush-fit 18-round steel magazines. The 18+1 capacity provides full-size capability without an extended magazine protruding far below the grip. Magazine restrictions vary by jurisdiction, so purchasers should confirm local capacity requirements before ordering or transferring the pistol.
