SIG SAUER WHISKEY6 3-18x44mm FFP MRAD Riflescope

The SIG SAUER WHISKEY6 3-18×44mm FFP MRAD Riflescope is a first-focal-plane hunting optic built for versatility across changing terrain, distance, and light. This exact black-finished configuration—manufacturer part number SOW63116—uses SIG SAUER’s MRAD Milling Hunter 2.0 reticle in a 30mm maintube and combines a six-times zoom range with a 44mm objective lens.

First-focal-plane MRAD hunting reticle

The first-focal-plane system changes the apparent size of the reticle as magnification changes, keeping its subtensions consistent throughout the 3–18× range. That design lets the MRAD Milling Hunter 2.0 reticle remain useful for holdovers and ranging at any selected power rather than only at one designated magnification. The MRAD layout also keeps reticle references and turret adjustments in the same angular measurement system.

SIG SAUER developed the Milling Hunter 2.0 reticle specifically for long-range hunting applications. The design provides a practical aiming structure without turning the sight picture into an overly busy competition-style grid.

HDX optical system

The WHISKEY6 uses SIG SAUER’s HDX optical system, combining extra-low-dispersion glass with high-transmittance lens coatings. The goal is a sharp image, strong color accuracy, and useful light transmission during the lower-light periods hunters commonly encounter. SpectraCoat anti-reflection coatings help reduce surface reflections across the visible spectrum, while LensArmor abrasion-resistant coatings add protection to exposed lens surfaces.

At 3×, the field of view is listed at 34.9 feet at 100 yards. At 18×, it narrows to 5.8 feet at 100 yards. Eye relief ranges from 3.7 to 3.9 inches, supporting a consistent viewing position across the magnification range.

Multi-Lock zero-stop elevation control

A redesigned Multi-Lock zero-stop elevation dial provides exposed, multi-turn adjustment with a locking push button. This arrangement allows quick access to elevation changes while helping prevent unintended movement and providing a defined return-to-zero reference. The MRAD configuration offers 19 MRAD of total elevation travel, 19 MRAD of total windage travel, and 10 MRAD of adjustment per turret rotation.

A removable magnification throw lever can remain installed for faster power changes or be removed for a more streamlined profile. The diopter adjustment range is plus or minus 2.5.

Built for adverse field conditions

The optic is IPX7 waterproof, fogproof, and argon purged. SIG SAUER’s Stealth ID exterior uses angular surfacing that helps break up the optic’s outline while adding protective geometry around the body. The scope weighs 23.8 ounces and measures 11.9 inches long, balancing a broad magnification range with a field-oriented form factor.

This model is non-illuminated and does not include a mount, so appropriate 30mm rings or a compatible 30mm mounting system must be selected separately for the host rifle.

Before installation

Confirm ring height, base compatibility, eye-relief placement, and available mounting space for the intended rifle. Follow the optic and mount manufacturers’ torque specifications, then confirm zero before field use. The package is the riflescope configuration identified above; rings and bases are not included.
