SIG SAUER Elite Match Grade .308 Winchester 168-Grain OTM Ammo

Description

SIG SAUER Elite Match Grade .308 Winchester ammunition is configured for shooters who want a clearly specified match load for precision practice, competition, and careful range evaluation. This exact load combines a 168-grain Open Tip Match (OTM) projectile with a brass case and is packaged 20 rounds per box. The product identifiers align with SIG SAUER catalog SKU E308M1-20: manufacturer part E308M120 and UPC 798681552948.

Purpose-built .308 Winchester match load

The 168-grain bullet weight is a familiar choice for .308 Winchester target shooting, and SIG SAUER categorizes this cartridge as Elite Match Grade ammunition for match application. It is intended for situations where repeatable performance and a consistent point of impact are priorities, including zero confirmation, group testing, positional practice, and organized competition. The 20-round box makes it straightforward to keep a particular load and lot identified for a rifle that has been zeroed and tested with it.

The Open Tip Match bullet is designed with accuracy as its central purpose. Its small opening is a product of how the bullet is formed; it should not be interpreted as proof that the projectile is a conventional expanding hunting bullet. Treat this configuration as precision target ammunition. If ammunition is being selected for hunting or another specialized application, confirm that the projectile design is suitable for that purpose and permitted under the relevant rules and laws.

Evaluating performance in your rifle

Factory match ammunition can provide a strong starting point, but results still vary from one rifle to another. Chamber dimensions, barrel length, twist rate, barrel condition, optic mounting, shooting technique, and environmental conditions can all affect group size and point of impact. The most reliable way to determine fit is to test the ammunition in the specific rifle that will use it. Fire several controlled groups, use a stable position, and record the results rather than assuming that one load will perform the same across every .308 Winchester platform.

SIG SAUER describes its match ammunition as being manufactured to exacting standards for dependable accuracy. The brass-cased construction provides the conventional format expected from premium centerfire rifle ammunition, while the defined 168-grain OTM specification makes the load easy to compare with a rifle’s existing zero and ballistic data. When changing from another bullet weight or load, confirm point of impact before a match, class, or important range session.

Compatibility, handling, and storage

Use this ammunition only in a firearm that is in safe operating condition and specifically marked for .308 Winchester. The store taxonomy may group .308 Winchester with related rifle calibers, but SIG SAUER identifies this product as .308 Winchester; a retailer category is not a substitute for the firearm manufacturer’s chambering guidance. If there is any uncertainty about compatibility, stop and consult the firearm manufacturer or a qualified gunsmith.

Keep the cartridges in their original labeled packaging so the caliber, bullet weight, lot information, MPN, and UPC remain available for reference. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location protected from moisture, excessive heat, impact, and unauthorized access. Inspect each cartridge before loading, follow the firearm manufacturer’s instructions, and wear appropriate eye and hearing protection. For shooters comparing premium target loads, this 20-round SIG SAUER box offers an exact, traceable 168-grain .308 Winchester OTM configuration.
