Description
SIG SAUER ROMEO-X SIG-LOC Compact 6 MOA Enclosed Reflex Sight
The SIG SAUER ROMEO-X SIG-LOC Compact is a fully enclosed pistol reflex sight built for compatible slides using SIG’s proprietary SIG-LOC Compact interface. This exact black model features a 6 MOA red dot, providing a bold aiming point that is easy to see during rapid presentation and close-range shooting. The sealed optical system protects the emitter and internal lens surfaces from rain, dust, lint, and debris that can interfere with an open-emitter optic.
Manufacturer part number SORX1660 identifies the enclosed 1x24mm SIG-LOC Compact model with the 6 MOA dot. Its housing is machined from high-strength 7075 aluminum, then sealed and purged for dependable performance in changing environments. Anti-reflection grooves on the rear surfaces help reduce unwanted glare, while the compact dimensions keep the sight low and streamlined on a properly configured pistol.
6 MOA Red Dot with 15 Brightness Levels
The 6 MOA dot is larger than a precision-oriented 3 MOA reticle, making it quick to pick up during presentation and easy to track through recoil. Because this is the dedicated 6 MOA version, the reticle remains a single red dot rather than changing between dot, circle, and combined circle-dot modes.
Fifteen brightness settings provide useful control across varied lighting conditions. Twelve settings are intended for daylight use, while three lower settings support compatible GEN3+ night-vision equipment. SIG’s D.A.R.C. technology—Dark Adaptive Reticles and Coatings—is designed to improve performance with night-vision systems when the appropriate setting is selected. Independent brightness buttons are recessed within a protective plate to reduce unintended activation.
MOTAC and MAGNETAC Power Management
SIG’s MOTAC motion-activated illumination system turns the reticle off after approximately two minutes without detected movement. When the sight senses motion again, it returns to the previous brightness setting. This keeps the optic ready while conserving battery power during storage or periods of inactivity.
The SIG-LOC Compact also supports SIG’s MAGNETAC system. When paired with a compatible MAGNETAC holster, the optic can switch off while holstered and reactivate when the pistol is drawn. MAGNETAC requires a compatible holster; MOTAC continues to provide motion-based operation independently.
Side-Access Battery and Enclosed Protection
The optic uses one CR1632 battery housed behind a threaded side cap. Side access allows battery replacement without removing the optic from the slide, helping preserve its installed position and zero. SIG specifies a minimum continuous runtime of approximately 20,000 hours at a medium brightness setting in dot-only operation. Actual runtime varies with brightness, movement, temperature, storage, and battery condition.
The optical assembly is fully enclosed, sealed, and purged, and SIG rates the Compact model to IPX7 for water resistance. The protected emitter path is valuable on a carry pistol because moisture, clothing fibers, and environmental debris cannot directly block the emitter in the same way they can with an open design.
Compact Dimensions and SIG-LOC Interface
The sight measures approximately 1.67 inches long, 1.20 inches wide, and 0.94 inch high. It weighs approximately 1.24 ounces with the battery installed and provides a 24mm clear aperture at 1x magnification. These dimensions maintain a compact profile while offering an enclosed viewing window.
The proprietary SIG-LOC Compact interface is not interchangeable with standard RMSc, DeltaPoint Pro, or conventional ROMEO-X Compact footprints. It mounts directly to slides specifically prepared for SIG-LOC Compact. Confirm the host pistol, slide cut, screws, and installation procedure before ordering. The included mounting hardware should be installed according to SIG’s torque and thread-preparation instructions.
Adjustment and Zeroing
Windage and elevation move in 1.5 MOA increments per click. The sight provides approximately 80 MOA of total elevation travel and 80 MOA of total windage travel. After mounting, establish an initial zero at close range, confirm the zero at the intended distance, and recheck the mounting screws and point of impact after the first range session.
