Sealed 7075-Aluminum Construction

SIG SAUER builds the ROMEO-X Enclosed Pro around a CNC-machined 7075-aluminum housing. Front and rear glass close the optical path, and the system is sealed and argon-purged. A distortion-free aspherical lens works with a high-efficiency point-source emitter to present a clear sight picture. The optic carries an IPX-7 water-resistance rating and is designed, developed, tested and assembled in the United States.

The patent-pending beryllium-copper flexure system supports the internal adjustment mechanism. Despite the enclosed construction, the sight maintains a low 0.94-inch deck height, allowing co-witness with standard-height iron sights on compatible pistols, slides and sight combinations.

Illumination, MOTAC and Battery Access

The optic provides 12 daylight brightness settings and three night-vision settings. D.A.R.C. lens coatings and brightness control are intended for clarity with GEN 3+ night-vision equipment. Recessed controls sit within a protective plate to reduce unintended setting changes during handling or use.

MOTAC motion-activated illumination powers the reticle when movement is detected and turns it off after inactivity. This feature helps conserve battery life without requiring the user to operate the controls each time the pistol is moved. SIG SAUER lists a 20,000-hour minimum continuous runtime at the medium brightness setting in dot-only operation. Actual life depends on brightness, temperature, movement and battery quality.

One CR1632 battery powers the sight. The compartment is mounted on the side, allowing battery replacement without removing the optic from the slide and helping preserve the established zero.

Compatibility and Setup

The Pro footprint is designed for compatible optic-ready pistols using the DeltaPoint Pro mounting pattern. Slide cuts, adapter requirements, screw threads and sight geometry can differ by manufacturer and model. Confirm the exact firearm with SIG SAUER’s compatibility guide and the pistol manufacturer’s instructions before installation.

Install the optic with the correct screws and specified torque. After mounting, establish a zero with the ammunition normally used in the pistol and check that all fasteners remain secure. The side-loading battery design avoids removing the sight for routine battery replacement, but mounting and zero should still be inspected periodically.
