Description
SIG SAUER ROMEO-X Pro 2 MOA Circle Dot FDE
The SIG SAUER ROMEO-X Pro SORX1002 is a purpose-built open reflex sight for optic-ready pistols that use the DeltaPoint Pro footprint. This exact flat dark earth configuration combines a precise 2 MOA center dot with a fast 32 MOA circle, giving the shooter a versatile sight picture for deliberate aiming and rapid target acquisition. Its 1x magnification and 24 mm objective preserve a natural, both-eyes-open view, while the compact 1.83-inch overall length keeps the optic streamlined on the slide.
SIG designed the ROMEO-X family around experience gained from military red-dot development. The Pro model uses a CNC-machined 7075 aluminum housing for a strong structure without unnecessary bulk. A patent-pending beryllium-copper flexure arm supports the adjustment system, and the optic is rated for use with 10 mm recoil. The open-emitter layout keeps the sight picture unobstructed, while the flat dark earth finish gives this SORX1002 variant a distinct appearance suited to similarly finished pistols and mixed-color builds.
Fast, Adaptable Circle-Dot Sight Picture
The 2 MOA center dot provides a fine aiming reference that does not cover excessive target area. Surrounding it, the 32 MOA circle is easy to find during the presentation from the holster or a low-ready position. Together, the dot and circle balance precision with speed for range work, competition practice, and defensive training. The optic offers 15 illumination settings—12 daylight levels and three settings optimized for night-vision use—so brightness can be matched to changing light conditions.
Windage and elevation adjustments move in 1.5 MOA increments, with 80 MOA of total travel in each axis. SIG’s distortion-free aspherical lens helps reduce visual aberration, while SpectraCoat anti-reflection treatment supports light transmission and minimizes distracting reflections. D.A.R.C. coatings and the three night-vision settings further support use with compatible Gen 3+ night-vision equipment.
Low Deck Height and Pro Footprint
The ROMEO-X Pro is designed around the DeltaPoint Pro mounting footprint used on many optic-ready P320, P226, and P229 pistols. Its ultra-low deck height is intended to permit an absolute co-witness with standard-height iron sights on compatible setups. That can simplify the pistol by avoiding unusually tall backup sights while keeping a familiar iron-sight reference visible through the optic window.
Fit should always be confirmed for the specific slide, cut, and mounting hardware. SIG includes multiple screw sets—M3 x 0.5 and M4 x 0.7 sizes—along with T10 and T6 Torx tools. This gives the package broad mounting support, but the correct screws and torque specification for the host pistol should be verified before installation.
Side-Loading Battery and Motion Activation
A side-loading CR1632 battery compartment allows battery replacement without removing the sight from the slide, helping preserve the established zero. Rated runtime is up to 20,000 hours under the manufacturer’s stated conditions. MOTAC motion-activated illumination powers the reticle when movement is detected and shuts it down during inactivity, conserving energy while keeping the optic ready for use. Controls are positioned for intuitive access when adjusting brightness.
