SIG SAUER P226-X LEGION SAO 9mm Optic-Ready Pistol

SIG SAUER P226-X LEGION SAO 9mm Optic-Ready Pistol

The SIG SAUER P226-X LEGION SAO combines the all-metal P226 platform with competition-inspired X-Series features in a full-size, factory optic-ready configuration. This listing is for manufacturer part number 226X-9-LEGION-SAO, chambered in 9mm Luger and supplied with three flush-fit 18-round steel magazines. Its single-action-only trigger, manual safety, match-grade bull barrel, LEGION G10 grips, XRAY3 day/night sights, and SIG-LOC PRO optic interface create a clearly defined package for shooters who prefer a consistent single-action trigger and the weight and balance of a metal-frame pistol.

Single-Action AX1 Trigger System

This model uses SIG SAUER’s AX1 adjustable single-action-only trigger. Unlike a double-action/single-action P226, the SAO configuration uses the same single-action trigger mode for each shot and incorporates a manual thumb safety. SIG lists the AX1 trigger as adjustable for overtravel, allowing the owner to have the trigger set up within the manufacturer’s guidance while retaining the pistol’s intended safety and operating systems.

The controls and trigger system should be understood before the pistol is loaded or used. Read the supplied owner’s manual, learn the correct condition checks, and follow SIG SAUER’s instructions for operating the manual safety. The safety is an added mechanical feature, not a replacement for keeping the trigger protected and maintaining safe handling practices.

Match-Grade Bull Barrel and Full-Size Slide

The 4.4-inch carbon-steel bull barrel uses a 35/35-degree reverse target crown, a feature drawn from SIG’s P226-XFIVE engineering. The barrel is not threaded on this SKU. The stainless-steel slide wears a LEGION Gray Cerakote finish and includes front and rear serrations for defined handling surfaces.

SIG SAUER lists the pistol as 8 inches long, 1.7 inches wide, and 5.25 inches high, with a weight of 35.1 ounces including a magazine. The combination of a bull barrel, stainless slide, and alloy frame gives this full-size configuration a substantial, balanced feel without using an all-steel frame.

Optic-Ready SIG-LOC PRO Interface

The slide is optic ready with SIG SAUER’s SIG-LOC PRO interface. This listing does not include a factory-installed electro-optic, so buyers can use the XRAY3 day/night sights as supplied or select a compatible optic and required mounting components. Always confirm the exact footprint, screws, plate requirements, and torque values before installation, and follow the instructions from both SIG SAUER and the optic manufacturer.

The factory XRAY3 day/night sights provide a visible iron-sight system in bright and reduced-light conditions. SIG specifies a 6-inch sight radius for this model. The slide and sight configuration are designed to preserve practical backup sighting capability while leaving the pistol ready for an appropriate electro-optic.

LEGION Frame, Grip, and Magazine Package

The alloy frame is finished in LEGION Gray Cerakote and fitted with black LEGION-pattern G10 grip panels. An M1913 accessory rail is integrated into the dust cover for compatible rail-mounted equipment. The frame profile, extended beavertail, grip texture, and undercut trigger-guard area reflect the P226-X LEGION’s emphasis on secure hand placement and repeatable access to the controls.

Three flush-fit 18-round steel magazines are included, providing an 18+1 listed capacity when a round is chambered. Magazine capacity and other product features may be restricted by state or local law. Confirm current purchasing, transfer, possession, and magazine rules for the buyer’s jurisdiction before ordering.
