Description
SIG SAUER ROMEO-M17 Enclosed Reflex Sight
The SIG SAUER ROMEO-M17 is a purpose-built, fully enclosed pistol optic developed around the U.S. military M17 and M18 Modular Handgun System. Its low-profile construction, dedicated SIG-LOC interface and protective housing are designed to become an integrated part of the compatible pistol rather than simply sitting on top of a conventional adapter plate. This SORM1710 configuration features a red selectable reticle with a precise 2 MOA aiming dot, a fast-acquisition 32 MOA circle and a combined circle-dot option.
Compatibility is highly specific: the ROMEO-M17 is intended for U.S. military-issue M17 and M18 pistols and compatible M17/M18 commemorative models. It does not fit standard commercial P320 slides. The optic uses the single-screw military MHS optics-cut arrangement and reuses the pistol’s rear sight block and screw, so buyers should verify the exact slide and mounting interface before ordering.
Enclosed protection for hard-use pistols
Unlike an open-emitter reflex sight, the ROMEO-M17 seals the emitter within a closed optical system. Dirt, rain, lint and airborne debris cannot fall directly between the emitter and lens, helping preserve a clear aiming point in demanding field, duty and everyday handling conditions. The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum and incorporates an integrated gas deflector to help shield the forward lens from combustion residue. Drainage features allow water to escape, while exterior anti-reflection grooves at the rear reduce distracting glare.
Selectable reticle and broad illumination range
The reticle can be configured as a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle or both together. The smaller dot supports deliberate aiming, while the large circle provides an immediate visual reference during rapid presentation. Fifteen illumination settings give the user twelve daylight levels and three night-vision-compatible levels. Controls are positioned for straightforward adjustment without disrupting the sight picture.
SIG SAUER’s MOTAC motion-activated illumination technology conserves energy by powering the reticle down during inactivity and restoring it when movement is detected. MAGNETAC can also switch the sight off when holstered in a compatible magnetic holster and reactivate it on the draw. A commonly available CR2032 battery installs through a side-access compartment, allowing battery replacement without removing the optic or disturbing its mount. SIG SAUER rates runtime at up to 50,000 hours in the dot-only setting under specified use conditions.
Low deck height and integrated sighting
The SIG-LOC mounting system secures the optic directly to the compatible slide while maintaining an exceptionally low deck height. That positioning supports co-witness use with the pistol’s standard-height sights and keeps the optic close to the bore axis. The ROMEO-M17 provides 1.5 MOA adjustment increments, with 40 MOA of elevation travel and 80 MOA of windage travel for zeroing.
The 1×24 optical system is treated with SIG SAUER’s D.A.R.C. coatings for optimized performance with modern night-vision equipment, along with LensArmor abrasion resistance and SpectraCoat anti-reflective treatment. The result is a clear, distortion-conscious sight picture designed for rapid, both-eyes-open use.

Confirm your platform before purchase
This is not a universal P320 optic. Its specialized interface is one of the ROMEO-M17’s defining advantages on the correct military-pattern platform, but it also makes exact compatibility essential. Confirm that the pistol is a U.S. military M17/M18 or a compatible commemorative model with the correct single-screw MHS cut before installation. When correctly matched, the ROMEO-M17 delivers a compact enclosed optic, a flexible reticle and an exceptionally low mounting position tailored to the M17/M18 system.
