Description
The SIG SAUER ROMEO2 SOR21600 is a modular 1x30mm reflex sight with a fixed 6 MOA red-dot reticle. Built around a 7075-aluminum housing and configurable steel shrouds, it can be set up as an open emitter, partially protected optic or fully enclosed system with the supplied rear window. This combination gives users a compact pistol-mounted sight with multiple protection levels for different carry, range and field requirements.
6 MOA Red Dot for Fast Visual Pickup
The 6 MOA dot appears larger than the 3 MOA option in the ROMEO2 family, making it easy to find quickly in the sight window. That larger aiming point can suit close-range work, action-oriented range use and shooters who prioritize rapid dot acquisition over the finer visual reference of a smaller dot. The optic uses a high-efficiency LED emitter and a molded aspheric glass lens with high-performance coatings to support brightness, light transmission and low distortion.
Fifteen illumination settings provide 12 daylight levels and three settings optimized for use with compatible night-vision equipment. D.A.R.C. technology combines specialized coatings and brightness control to maintain reticle clarity with Gen 3+ night-vision devices. Adjustment value is 1 MOA per click, and SIG SAUER specifies 100 MOA of total windage travel and 100 MOA of total elevation travel.
Three Modular Protection Configurations
The ROMEO2 includes steel shrouds that allow the aluminum optic body to be configured for different levels of protection. It can remain in its compact open-emitter form, use the partial shroud for added impact resistance, or use the full-length shroud and rear window to create an enclosed and sealed configuration. The ruggedized shroud helps protect the sight from impacts, while the enclosed arrangement helps keep dust, debris and moisture away from the emitter.
The housing measures 1.84 inches long and approximately 1.32 inches wide. Its compact profile, unlimited eye relief and true 1x magnification are suited to both-eyes-open viewing. The optic uses the SIG PRO footprint shared with the ROMEO1PRO and can direct-mount to SIG pistol slides with the PRO cut. Fit should still be checked carefully because SIG notes that the ROMEO2 will not fit every industry DeltaPoint Pro-pattern cut due to differences in recoil-boss dimensions.
Power Management and Serviceability
A side-loading, spring-loaded CR2032 battery tray allows battery replacement without removing the optic from the firearm, helping preserve the mounted zero. SIG SAUER rates runtime at up to 25,000 hours on a medium setting. MOTAC motion-activation technology turns illumination on when motion is detected and powers it down during inactivity to conserve energy.
MAGNETAC adds another automatic control option when the sight is used with a compatible holster containing the required magnet. The optic powers down while holstered and returns to its previous setting when drawn. Manual brightness selection remains available for matching the dot to current light conditions.
Durability and Lens Protection
The ROMEO2 is rated IPX7 waterproof and is designed for shockproof and fogproof performance. LensArmor abrasion-resistant coatings help protect the lens surface, while the TruHold lockless zeroing system uses twin adjustment springs engineered to withstand handgun recoil and maintain zero. The optic was designed, developed, tested and assembled in the United States.
